Post-doctoral researcher - Functional Genomics in AML
Aufgaben:
The lab is seeking a motivated postdoctoral researcher to join a project funded by the German Cancer Aid (Deutsche Krebshilfe). The role focuses on elucidating molecular mechanisms of oncogenesis and therapy resistance in AML. The candidate will develop multiplexed, high-throughput functional genomic screens to dissect the roles of oncogenic drivers and resistance pathways.
Independent establishing of multiplex, high-throughput genomic screens in AML
Independently design and carry out follow-up scientific projects, plan, establish, and analyze in vitro as well as in vivo experiments
Handling of primary patient material for example bone marrow MNCs, perform FACS analysis and quantification
Write manuscripts and grants
Presentation of scientific data at national and international conferences
Train and instruct scientific employees (technical assistants, MD and PhD doctoral candidates) allocated to the project
Qualifikationen:
The applicant should hold a PhD degree in biology, biochemistry, molecular medicine or a related life science, ideally in cancer research
Theoretical and practical expertise in molecular biology (e.g. cloning, PCR) and protein biochemical techniques-experimental as well as in cell culture (e.g. production of virus particles for genomic modifications) techniques
Experience with the principles and application of functional genomic tools such as CRISPR/Cas9-based technologies
Expertise with high-throughput genomic assays (e.g. bulk and/or single cell RNA-sequencing) is an advantage
Experienced handling of analytical software (e.g. Office, FlowJo, Illustrator) is required, additional (bio)informatics skills (e.g. processing and analysis of sequencing data using software, R or Python) or a strong interest to acquire these skills is encouraged
Track records of publications in peer-reviewed journals are expected
A high level of motivation and interest in answering scientific questions in an interdisciplinary academic cancer research setting
Flexibility and responsibility, as well as very good communication skills in German or English
Motivation to learn, apply, and establish new techniques, ability to critically analyze and reflect data
Due to legal regulations, valid proof of measles immunity / measles vaccination is required
